1.Everyone working with children or in educational or childcare premises must undergo a criminal record check - Disclosure Barring Service (DBS).
Discuss effectiveness of the DBS. Consider the following points:

- does the DBS fulfill the requirements of the safeguarding legislation?

- what about the culprits who have never been caught?

- What about the potential of abusive behaviour occuring after undergoing criminal record checks with the DBS?

- what other precautions and measures can the EYP setting and educational establishment take to safeguard children?
